BOE races are non-partisan and so is HOPE. Our recommendation below is for District 2 for the Nov 7, 2006 election.
District 2 comprises Erie, Huron, Lorain, Lucas, Wood, part of Ottawa, and part of Seneca County.

Martha Wise, the beloved district 2 representative, is now running for state senate. Her term on the BOE will expire in Dec. We wish her well & are very excited anticipating how, as a senator, she will continue to do great things for Ohio!
District 2 has 4 candidates, 3 of whom have equivocated on the issue of strong science education. HOPE is supporting John Bender, an educator and outstanding public servant with an excellent record of supporting top notch public education and strong science education programs.
Remember, most Ohio taxpayers can get a taxCREDIT of $50 ($100 for married filing jointly) when you donate to state Board of Ed candidates.
