BOE races are non-partisan and so is HOPE. Our recommendation below is for District 10 for the Nov 4, 2008 election.
District 10 comprises Adams, Brown, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Fayette, Gallia, Greene, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Madison, part of Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton counties
Jane Sonenshein
Jane Sonenshein has worked as a registered nurse and medical social worker. She also has been a substitute teacher for grades K-6. Sonenshein earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Cincinnati and has completed graduate-level courses in education at Xavier University and Miami University.

A 25-year member of the PTA, Sonenshein has held leadership positions with the association at both the unit and council levels. She is active in the League of Women Voters and has served as the League’s Education Study Chair. Sonenshein also is a member of the Clermont 20/20 Education Task Force Committee, helping to create a lifelong learning network for Clermont County residents. Her community activities also have included service as a classroom volunteer, levy volunteer, homework tutor and Kids Voting Southwest Ohio county volunteer coordinator.

Sonenshein is a member of the Board's Capacity Committee and its Quality High School Subcommittee. Her husband, Charles, is a retired teacher who is currently a math education consultant. Their two sons are graduates of Milford High School. 


Remember, most Ohio taxpayers can get a tax CREDIT of $50 ($100 for married filing jointly) when you donate to state Board of Ed candidates.
